Size 10 thread, (one 350 yd ball is plenty)
Size 7 hook

Join with sl stitch unless noted otherwise.
Beg Shell - ch-3, dc, ch 2, 2 dc
Shell – 2 dc, ch 2, 2 dc
V-st – dc, ch 2, dc
Rnd 1: ch 2, 8 sc in first ch, join with sl stitch to 1st sc.
Rnd 2: ch 4, dc in same space, (ch 1, dc in next sc, ch 1 dc in same sc) repeat around ch 1, join to 3rd ch of beg ch 4. (16 dc)
Rnd 3: Sl st in ch-1 sp, ch 3, dc in same space, ch 1, (2 dc in next sp, ch 1) repeat around, join in top of beg ch-3. (32 dc)
Rnd 4: ch 1, sc in same st, sc in next dc, ch 1, (sc in next 2 dc, ch 1) repeat around, join.
Rnd 5: sl st to ch-1 sp, ch 1, sc in same sp, ch 2, (sc in next ch-1 sp, ch 2) repeat around, join.
Rnd 6: ch 3, 2 dc in same st, ch 1, sc in next ch-2 sp, ch 1, (3 dc in next sc, ch 1, sc in next ch-2 sp, ch 1) join. (16 groups of 3 dc)
Rnd 7: sl st in next dc, ch 1, sc in same st, (ch 4, sc in 2nd dc of next 3-dc group), repeat around ending ch 1, dc in 1st sc to form last sp. (16 ch-4 loops)
Rnd 8 & 9: ch 1, sc in same sp, (ch 5, sc in next sp) repeat around ending ch 2, dc in 1st sc to form last sp. (16 ch-5 loops)
Rnd 10: Beg Shell see special stitches) in joining dc, ch 3, V-st (see special stitches) in 3rd ch of next ch 5 sp, ch 3, *shell (see special stitches) in 3rd ch of next ch 5 sp, ch 3, V-st in 3rd ch of next ch 5 sp, ch 3* repeat around, join in top of 1st ch-3. ( 8 shells & 8 V-st)
Rnd 11: sl st to ch-2 sp of shell, Beg Shell in same sp, ch 3, (dc, ch 5, dc) in ch-2 sp of next V-st, ch 3, * shell in next shell, ch 3, (dc, ch 5, dc) in next V-st, ch 3* repeat around, join.
